Techivation's M-Imager threatens rivals before its price doubles

Techivation has launched M-Imager, a stereo widening processor that joins the company's M-Series plugin collection. The software employs phase-only, time-varying spectral decorrelation technology to create stable stereo enhancement without typical phase artifacts. Musicians can adjust stereo width using the central Widen control while monitoring results through an integrated goniometer display. The interface features input/output meters alongside Mid and Side gain adjustments for precise signal balance control.

The plugin preserves original transients and maintains left-right channel balance during processing. A dynamic EQ section occupies the lower interface area and applies linear-phase high-shelf filtering exclusively to side signals. Users access Gain, Threshold, and Frequency parameters, plus a Mono Cutoff filter that protects low-frequency content below specified thresholds.

M-Imager supports Windows 7 and later systems, plus macOS 10.15 or higher versions. The company offers VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for compatibility with digital audio workstations. Early adopters pay $55 through September 20, 2025, before pricing increases to $129.
