Techland delays Dying Light - The Beast to September 19 after Cologne preview

Techland postponed the release of Dying Light: The Beast from August 22 to September 19, 2025. The developer cited the need for additional polish as the primary reason behind this four-week delay. The studio aims to deliver what they consider their finest Dying Light entry to date. This decision reflects lessons learned from Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which received mixed reviews upon its initial launch.

The development team plans to refine several key aspects during this extended timeline. These improvements focus on gameplay balance adjustments, user interface enhancements, physics system upgrades, cutscene refinements, and animation polish. Techland seeks to address final details that distinguish exceptional games from merely adequate ones. The studio emphasized how first impressions significantly impact long-term success.

Recent preview coverage featured the game at various gaming outlets. Gamescom attendees can experience the title firsthand at Hall 6. Techland will continue sharing development updates, with a gore-focused development diary scheduled for next week featuring Bober the Beaver.
