Cops in Khulna picked up a woman named Tonima, also called Tonni, for a shooting. The victim was Motaleb Shikder, a top guy with the National Citizen Party's worker wing in that region. He got shot inside a rented apartment near Sabujbagh Surgical Clinic on Al Aqsa Mosque Sarani.
The place was rented last month by Tonni and some dude pretending to be her husband. Police say Shikder was a frequent visitor. Officers found drug paraphernalia and some personal items belonging to women at the scene, along with a used bullet casing. Their working theory is that the whole thing might be tied to narcotics or some kind of personal dispute involving a woman.
The detective branch grabbed Tonni after the incident. Shikder is currently over at Khulna Medical College Hospital getting treated. The investigation is still going.
