Transafam Power steps up, and elders get wellness with care

Transafam Power Limited dropped a healthcare program for elderly people in Okoloma-Afam, Rivers State, and gave out blood pressure monitors plus vitamins to over 30 seniors. Vincent Ozoude from the company said they want this to happen every year since they power about a fifth of the country's electricity alongside their sister operation. Doctors from Avon Medical Practice showed up to talk about managing hypertension and preventing diabetes while doing free health checks.

The seniors walked away with food packages, toiletries, bedding, and household stuff on top of the medical gear. Community leaders said the whole thing was organized well and actually helped people instead of just being for show.

Transafam runs other programs for waste management and youth employment in the area, and they plan to keep expanding their community work beyond this annual wellness event.
