Nigerian Army troops pulled off a late-night rescue in Kano State's Tsanyawa area after locals rang them up about bandits causing chaos. Operation MESA forces teamed up with the air force and police units to track down the attackers, and they managed to free seven people who'd been grabbed. The militants had already killed a 60-year-old woman before security showed up.
Soldiers chased the armed group toward Rimaye and lit them up with heavy fire, which made the bandits ditch their captives and bolt toward Katsina State. Four other kidnapped people are still missing. The brigade commander gave props to the troops for moving fast, and he's asking residents to keep feeding intel to security forces working the border areas.
