Trump Pins War Deaths on Zelensky, Biden, Putin

Donald Trump blamed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for deaths in the ongoing Ukraine conflict during a White House press conference. He suggested that Zelensky shares responsibility with Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President Joe Biden for the war's casualties.

Trump claimed millions had died because of the three leaders, though estimates suggest hundreds of thousands have been killed or injured since the 2022 Russian invasion. He criticized Zelensky's war strategy, arguing that fighting against a much larger opponent was unwise and that the Ukrainian leader was constantly seeking missile purchases.

The comments followed a deadly Russian missile attack on Sumy that killed at least 35 civilians and wounded 117 others. Tensions between Trump and Zelensky have been high since their February White House confrontation. Zelenskyy had previously urged Trump to visit Ukraine and witness the conflict's devastation before negotiating.

Russia claimed to have targeted Ukrainian soldiers with Iskander missiles, alleging 60 casualties, but provided no evidence to support the claim. Trump stated he wanted to stop the killing and hinted at upcoming proposals without providing additional details.

The remarks highlight the complex diplomatic tensions surrounding the ongoing Ukraine conflict and reflect the differing perspectives of international leaders on the war's origins and potential resolution.
