Two Dengue Deaths Reported as 326 Patients Hospitalized in 24 Hours

Dengue fever killed two people and sent 326 others to hospitals across Bangladesh during the past day. Health officials reported the new cases through Wednesday morning. The Directorate General of Health Services released the updated numbers. Barishal division saw the most admissions with 118 patients. Chattogram and Dhaka divisions each recorded 43 new hospital cases.

Dhaka North City Corporation admitted 26 dengue patients to medical facilities. Dhaka South City Corporation hospitals treated 45 new cases. Khulna division reported 16 hospitalizations from the mosquito-spread illness. Mymensingh recorded five admissions and Sylhet had one patient. Rajshahi division hospitals received 29 dengue sufferers.

Bangladesh has documented 8,870 dengue cases since January. The disease has claimed 36 lives during 2025. Medical centers discharged 319 patients who recovered from dengue symptoms. The current outbreak remains smaller than last year's crisis. Health records show 101,214 people caught dengue fever during 2024 with 575 deaths.
