Two men died after the multi-purpose vehicle they were in collided with a fruit transport lorry on the southbound North-South Expressway near the Juru Rest & Relaxation area. The Perai Fire and Rescue Station responded to the incident after receiving an emergency call.
The victims, identified as the Toyota Estima's driver, Mohamad Nizar Abdul Rahman, 32, and passenger Muhammad Fakhrur Razi Usri, 31, were trapped inside their vehicle following the crash. Firefighters used special equipment to free them. The lorry driver was not injured in the collision.
Medical personnel from the Health Ministry pronounced both men dead at the scene.
