Two Men Arrested for Brandishing Fake Pistol After Traffic Dispute

Two young men landed behind bars after waving a fake gun at another driver during a road rage incident. The drama unfolded Tuesday night around 11pm when cars crashed on a busy Taman Desa street. A 28-year-old man driving his black Honda City got sideswiped by a red Toyota Yaris. The crash sparked angry words between both drivers. Police say the Toyota driver grabbed what looked like a real black pistol and aimed it straight at the Honda driver.

The victim rushed to Brickfields police station just after midnight to file his complaint. Cops quickly tracked down the suspects and arrested them both. The fake weapon turned out to be a replica pistol that one suspect had ordered through the TikTok shopping app. Officers discovered the phony gun during their investigation. Both men face serious charges for their dangerous stunt.

The 19-year-old and 27-year-old suspects must stay locked up for four days until July 5. ACP Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood confirmed that courts approved the remand order. Prosecutors plan to charge them under two different laws. The intimidation charge falls under Section 506 of the Penal Code. They also face weapons charges under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960 for carrying fake firearms.
