Two villagers got locked up after a brutal stabbing incident. Julien Sibanda and Ngqabutho Ncube are held in custody following their court appearance for attempted murder. The Bulawayo regional magistrates' court heard how they allegedly attacked fellow Ntabazinduna resident Eric Dube.
The incident occurred one evening in the Matabeleland North village. Prosecutors say the men first went to Dube's homestead but did not find him. They later located him elsewhere and assaulted him with a metal object.
The attack left Dube with a serious head wound and multiple leg injuries. He required immediate hospital treatment after the violent confrontation. Authorities have not released any information regarding a possible motive for the assault.
Police made arrests quickly after the matter was reported. Magistrate Sibonginkosi Mkandla remanded the two accused men pending further trial proceedings. Their case will continue while they remain in custody.
