Typhoon Bualoi leaves Vietnam reeling, 11 dead

Typhoon Bualoi struck Vietnam's central and northern regions on Sunday night, claiming at least 11 lives, and damaging or destroying hundreds of homes before weakening into neighboring Laos. Dozens remain missing or injured after floodwaters swept bridges away, winds tore roofs from buildings, and power lines collapsed across Ha Tinh province. The storm has killed more than 20 people in the Philippines since on Friday, and follows Super Typhoon Ragasa, which claimed 28 lives last week across the northern Philippines and Taiwan. Rescuers continue searching for 17 missing fishermen as nearly 30,000 evacuated residents face rainfall totals between 200 and 350 millimeters through on Tuesday, with some areas potentially receiving up to 500 millimeters.
