Ten companies from the United Arab Emirates just wrapped up their business tour across Uganda. The group spent seven days checking out farms and food factories from June 26 through July 3. Ambassador Zaake Kibedi organized the whole trip to boost trade between both countries. The visitors wanted to find new ways to invest money in Uganda's farming industry. This mission fits perfectly with Uganda's plan to grow its economy through agriculture.
The business team toured major food processing plants and agricultural sites across central and eastern Uganda. They stopped at Maganjo Grain Millers and the National Tree Seed Centre in Namanve. The delegation also visited NUCAFE coffee operations and Masubi Farm's avocado oil factory. At Kakira Sugar Limited, they learned about the company's 45-megawatt power plant that feeds electricity back to the national grid. The tour ended at the National Agricultural Exhibition in Jinja where they met local farmers and government officials.
