Uba Sani pushes for real change, unity, and action top agenda

Kaduna Governor Uba Sani wants Nigeria to set up a unified North-West Theatre Command that merges two army divisions to share intel better and wreck criminal operations across state lines. He pitched this at a Senate security hearing, and he pushed for extending the Lake Chad task force to cover the Niger Republic border to stop gun smuggling and cut off escape routes for bandits.

The governor said military force alone won't cut it, and he wants permanent security committees with local leaders, religious figures, and youth groups to catch problems early. He also argued for state police since the country only has around 400,000 cops for over 230 million people. Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar acknowledged that bandit groups and terror cells still operate despite recent progress in reopening roads and getting displaced farmers back to work.
