The police in Uganda went into the offices of a political party called NUP. They said they needed to search because they heard people were doing military training there. The NUP members had worn red uniforms and berets earlier, which made the police suspicious.
The leader of NUP, Bobi Wine, was very upset about this. He said the police blocked all the roads and might have put fake evidence in their offices. Before the police came, his party had met with more than 40 older people from a place called Teso. They talked about making their party stronger.
Bobi Wine told everyone that right after this meeting, soldiers took these older people away. Some of them were very old, around 80 years old. The soldiers later left them at a police station called Wandegeya. Bobi Wine thinks this happened because the government is scared of his party becoming popular.
Something else bad happened to one of Bobi Wine's friends, Mr. Nyanzi. He leads a part of the NUP party. Some people kept him locked up for four days and hurt him. They later left him near his house. Many people complained about this, which helped set him free.
