Umo Eno calls his own Akwa Ibom state a glorified village

Governor Umo Eno celebrated Akwa Ibom State's 38th anniversary on Tuesday, marking its transformation. The state emerged from rural beginnings when General Ibrahim Babangida established it in 1987. Eno highlighted remarkable infrastructure development that replaced basic village conditions with modern amenities. The capital city, Uyo, boasts a high-quality road network and elegant residential developments. Ibom Air represents the state's achievements in the aviation sector.

Akwa Ibom hosts FIFA and CAF international football competitions, demonstrating sports infrastructure capabilities. Citizens occupy leadership positions globally across multiple professions. The governor acknowledged previous administrations for consistent developmental progress. Minister Nyesom Wike will inaugurate road projects spanning 15.13 kilometers in Ika Local Government Area.

Eno encouraged political unity as the election period approaches. He requested residents maintain brotherhood despite partisan activities. The governor emphasized the importance of collaborative governance that transcends party boundaries. State leaders received advice against divisive rhetoric during campaign seasons. Eno promised continued democratic benefits for all citizens.
