The UPDF came out and said they arrested Rev. Fr. Deusdedit Ssekabira from Masaka Diocese, and the guy is sitting in custody facing allegations about violent actions against the government. Col. Chris Magezi dropped a statement confirming security forces grabbed the priest, and they plan to charge him in court soon.
Masaka Diocese had been saying armed dudes in military gear kidnapped Ssekabira from his office in Katwe back at the start of the month. Bishop Serverus Jjumba told everyone to pray three times daily for the priest to come home safe, but then the military basically said he was never missing in the first place.
Police had tweeted earlier that they were still checking if the abduction even happened, which makes the whole timeline pretty weird. Nobody from either agency has explained where they are holding him or what exactly he supposedly did.
