Vampire Survivors teases online chaos update

Poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors, announced that four-player online co-op will arrive for console and PC versions this autumn. The feature is part of a set of five planned updates expected to roll out in the coming weeks.

The announcement came through a trailer on Poncle’s YouTube channel, which teased the updates using five cards marked with question marks. The first card flipped to reveal the word “Online,” followed by a retro Windows 97-style desktop where a cursor clicked on a “VS_Online.exe” icon with a caption reading “Press here for online,” humorously implying the update’s simplicity.

The video description revealed that players can explore stages freely while others navigate challenges such as the Astral Stair and Room 1665. It also noted that multiplayer will not necessarily make survival easier. Poncle encouraged fans to check back each week to uncover more updates, hinting at answers to long-standing player questions.

Although the release schedule has not been confirmed, the teaser suggests that weekly reveals or launches will occur over the next month. Vampire Survivors, which won Best Game at the 2023 BAFTA Game Awards over major titles like Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok, continues to expand its popular formula with consistent new content.
