VP Cracks Down on Ghana Loot

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang started a new plan to take back stolen government money. She called it Operation Recover All Loot at a meeting about fighting corruption. The vice president told everyone that corrupt people will face punishment. She spoke to community leaders and government workers about her ideas. Her message was clear and strong.

Opoku-Agyemang wants new laws that make officials prove their money came from legal sources. She said Ghana needs rules that force people to explain where they earned their wealth. The current system for reporting assets does not work well enough. Officials just fill out papers but nobody checks them carefully. She wants stronger ways to track what government workers truly have.

The vice president praised reporters and citizen groups for catching corrupt officials. These people help expose bad behavior and make leaders accountable. President John Dramani Mahama supports these anti-corruption changes. The government backs journalists and activists who investigate wrongdoing. Their work helps protect public money from thieves.

Opoku-Agyemang said political parties need rules about campaign money. Without proper oversight of election funding, corruption will continue. Regular citizens must join the fight against corruption for real change. Ghana can become a leader on the continent for honest government. The country's future depends on protecting public resources.
