Yunus's National Consensus Commission gets extension to Oct 15

Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid issued a gazette notification on Monday that prolongs the National Consensus Commission operations through October 15. The extension takes effect immediately for the seven-member body established on February 12 under the SRO No. 55 Act, 2025. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus chairs the commission tasked with fostering political party agreement on reform commission proposals. Ali Riaz from the Constitution Reform Commission serves as vice-president alongside five other reform leaders. The members represent public administration, law enforcement, electoral systems, the judiciary, and anti-corruption reform efforts.
