Yusuf Maart to join SV Ried left off Kaizer Chiefs tour list

Kaizer Chiefs flew to Holland without star player Yusuf Maart. The midfielder missed the trip because he wants to leave South Africa. Chiefs fans should prepare for bad news about their favorite player. Maart plans to sign with Austrian club SV Ried very soon. The 29-year-old decided Europe offers better chances for his career.

Maart spent three seasons wearing the Chiefs jersey. He played 95 matches and scored seven times for the team. The midfielder also helped teammates score eight goals during his time there. Chiefs made him captain for several important games. His departure leaves a huge gap that coaches must fill quickly.

SV Ried just earned promotion to Austria's top league. The club already signed South African winger Antonio van Wyk. Maart will have a friend from home to help him adjust. European football gives him chances to impress international scouts. The move could boost his career to new levels.

Chiefs supporters might feel lucky about missing Oswin Appollis. The winger scored six goals last season but only managed two this year. His performance dropped badly under the new coach. Appollis played 25 league games but disappointed many fans. Chiefs avoided spending money on a player who struggles.

The team faces challenges replacing Maart's leadership skills. His Austrian adventure starts a new chapter for both sides. Chiefs must find another midfielder who can control games. Maart gets his dream chance to play European football. Both parties hope the separation works out well.
