ZANU-PF demands Mnangagwa rule to 2030

ZANU PF leaders from Midlands Province endorsed extending President Emmerson Mnangagwa's presidency until 2030 during Sunday's Provincial Coordinating Committee session in Gweru. The provincial officials submitted this recommendation as part of their preparations for next month's annual national People's Conference scheduled for Mutare. Party Secretary for Local Governance Connilius Mupereri confirmed that all regional structures supported the extension proposal. The province also advocated for establishing an independent national currency to support continued development initiatives. Officials described this motion as Resolution Number 1, emphasizing grassroots support for the measure.

Politburo member Supa Mandiwanzira explained that the resolution achieved nationwide acceptance after the Bulawayo conference last year. He highlighted Mnangagwa's achievements in infrastructure projects and human capital development as justification for the extension. The minister noted that Zimbabwean healthcare professionals have gained international recognition under the current administration. Security Secretary Owen Ncube reinforced the proposal by calling it a mandate from citizens. Midlands Province became the final region to formally endorse this extension recommendation.
