ZANU PF Denounces Geza Outlandish Rantings

Zimbabwe's ruling party, ZANU PF, condemned Central Committee member Runesu Geza for making "outlandish, treasonable, and egregious rantings" that breached party discipline.

Information Secretary Christopher Mutsvangwa said in a February 5 statement that Geza's remarks undermined war veteran organizations aligned with the party. These entities serve as crucial pillars of ZANU PF's revolutionary heritage.

Party officials have begun investigating Geza's alleged attempts to claim authority over these veteran groups. The leadership promised swift action through established disciplinary channels to address these violations.

ZANU PF reaffirmed its support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa and pledged to implement Resolution #1 from the October 2024 Bulawayo Conference. The party stressed this action would align with Zimbabwe's 2013 Constitution.

The statement urged members to trust the party's organizational structure and leadership as officials handle the situation. This internal challenge emerges as ZANU PF pursues its Vision 2030 plan to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income nation.

The party leadership aims to maintain strict discipline across its ranks, presenting a united front under President Mnangagwa's direction. Officials emphasized their dedication to peace and economic development throughout this period of internal scrutiny.
