Zim juniors end Hockey World Cup on high note, beat Namibia

The junior women's hockey team placed twenty-third at a recent World Cup in Chile. They beat Namibia two to one in a playoff match to secure that spot. Namibia took an early lead, but Zimbabwe answered with goals from Nyasha Bvute and Panaka Kambaza.

The tournament was tough for them from the start. Their group stage matches were rough, with heavy losses to Argentina, Belgium, and Wales. That put them in the lower bracket. The host nation, Chile, then beat them decisively. They showed grit in a close match against Malaysia, losing only in a penalty shootout after a draw. The Netherlands won the championship, defeating Argentina in the final. Zimbabwe's last win over Namibia ended a difficult campaign on a slightly positive note.
