Zim Youth Service grads set to get job, college edge under new rules

That youth service certificate just became your ticket to every Zimbabwean government job and college spot. Over 2,000 young people recently went through the retooled national training program, with sessions held at centers in Dadaya, Vumba, and Guyu across multiple provinces.

The revamped initiative aims to instill skills and discipline to boost employability. The cabinet has officially mandated the program's completion certificate for entry into state universities and public sector employment. Recruitment into security sector roles will also prioritize these graduates.

The scheme was revived after an earlier version trained thousands before halting. It continues to accept new applicants nationwide for its curriculum, which focuses on vocational development and national values.
