Foreign Affairs Minister Amon Murwira has stated that Zimbabwe is dedicated to implementing the cooperation agreements made with Algeria. He confirmed the nation's intent to maintain the current momentum across several key economic sectors. Murwira made these remarks at a recent event in Harare commemorating the Algerian National Day.
The minister highlighted the historical solidarity between the two countries, noting that Algeria provided material and logistical support to Zimbabwe's liberation movements. He described their relationship as one built on mutual respect and a shared vision for development. The Algerian Ambassador, Mohamed Seoudi, affirmed his country's continued support for Zimbabwe's economic progress.
Ambassador Seoudi also announced that Algeria is actively backing Zimbabwe's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2027-2028 term. He expressed a commitment to rallying other nations to support this bid, recognizing Zimbabwe's foreign policy principles.
