Zimbabwe Names Squad for Tests Against South Africa

Zimbabwe picked 16 players for their upcoming Test series against South Africa. The matches will happen at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo starting June 28. Craig Ervine leads the team as captain for both games scheduled through July 10. The squad features new faces and returning veterans ready to face the World Test Champions.

Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani headlines the attack after reaching 50 Test wickets recently. Brian Bennett earned attention for scoring Zimbabwe's fastest Test century during their England tour. Sean Williams adds experience to the middle order batting lineup. Prince Masvaure and Takudzwanashe Kaitano return to strengthen the top order positions.

Kundai Matigimu receives his first Test call-up as a pace bowler. Trevor Gwandu comes back after recovering from a groin injury that cut short his England trip. Vincent Masekesa rejoins the squad as the leg-spin bowling option. Richard Ngarava and Ben Curran miss out due to injuries.

South Africa arrives fresh from their World Test Championship victory over Australia at Lord's. Zimbabwe hopes to perform well on home ground before passionate Bulawayo fans. The first Test runs from June 28 through July 2. The second Test follows immediately from July 6 to July 10.
