ZIMRA official Raymore Machingura faces corruption probe

Raymore Tafadzwa Machingura, a senior official at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, faces serious allegations of corruption, abuse of office, and unexplained wealth. A dossier and a close source claim that Machingura has appeared before several internal disciplinary hearings, but no decisive action has been taken. The source alleged that Machingura boasts about political connections, naming a senior Zanu-PF politician from Chipinge Central to shield himself from accountability.

Documents suggest Machingura failed to declare several assets as required by ZIMRA rules, raising concerns about wealth that far exceeds his known salary. The dossier accuses him of using posts at Plumtree, Mutare, Beitbridge, and Bulawayo to engage in illicit activities. Allegations of political interference have fueled suspicion that internal investigations are compromised.

Machingura denied all accusations, calling them baseless and driven by a disgruntled relative. He stated that his asset records are in full compliance and challenged anyone to verify the claims with ZIMRA headquarters. Requests for official comment from ZIMRA’s communications department went unanswered.
