ZOU Unleashes AI for Rural Education Takeover

Zimbabwe Open University uses artificial intelligence to improve education across the country. The school follows Education 5.0 methods that focus on helping local communities solve real problems. Students work directly with rural areas to create practical solutions for everyday challenges. Professor Remigios Mangizvo leads the Midlands campus and explains how students engage with communities. The university builds programs that match what people actually need.

Students created a mobile app called Fambayi that helps travelers find tourism spots around Zimbabwe. The app shows how the university brings technology into classrooms and research projects. Minister Owen Ncube praised the school for supporting government development goals. He said the university helps boost important economic sectors like mining and agriculture. The Education 5.0 system started under President Mnangagwa and teaches students to become job creators instead of job seekers.
