kuromba

means to own a goblin (chikwambo) that can either be used for purposes of kuroya ("hexing" ) or enriching yourself through blood sacrifice rituals (kuchekeresa munhu).

However, just because a blood sacrifice was carried out doesn't mean a person has chikwambo because not all rituals involve the use of zvikwambo. Some rituals, for example, involve kutemerwa nyora, id est small incisions made with a razor blade treated with traditional medicine (mishonga).

From there you have to travel to the grave or mausoleum of a deceased person to magically raise or conjure their resting soul and use it for anything you want for the duration of the agreed-upon contract (mhiko or chigondiso) -- consider this as though you are entering into a blood pact with a demon, but in this case, it will be with a dead person's spirit; however, they must not be your relative otherwise too much drama will unfold expeditiously.

In a nutshell, some people often decide on kuromba for various reasons such as
  • to cause physical harm or mental illness to people whom they envy.
  • to become a celebrity without putting in too much effort or talent.
  • to attain more power whether in the corporate world or politics.
  • to perform miracles and increase your congregation.
  • etc.
