Ghana's capital hosted what organizers called the planet's biggest walk dedicated to business ownership on Sunday as 5,000 participants gathered for an event highlighting innovation and economic opportunity across Africa.
The Global Entrepreneurship Festival brought together investors, policymakers and company founders from multiple nations to march through Accra under a theme promoting sustainable growth through private enterprise. Executive Director Joy Smart Francis called the procession a demonstration of purpose that represents courage and creativity in building economies and fostering stability. The walk emphasized youth development, gender equity, educational access and technology adoption while showcasing Ghana as an emerging center for commercial collaboration.
Organizers positioned the march as an opening ceremony for the Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2025, scheduled from Nov. 21 through 23 at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and Resort. That gathering expects more than 10,000 in-person attendees plus millions joining remotely for conferences, exhibitions and presentations spanning art, culture, music and fashion alongside business deal-making sessions.
