Adani praises workers before Navi Mumbai airport opens

Gautam Adani credited the workers and staff for building the Navi Mumbai International Airport ahead of its October 8 inauguration on Friday. The Adani Group chairman acknowledged the construction teams and colleagues with disabilities who contributed to the project. His son Jeet Adani described watching his father thank workers as a lesson in leadership.

The facility features a 3,700-meter runway and advanced terminals designed to serve 20 million passengers annually. The airport received its operating license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Tuesday. IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express plan to launch domestic services from the location.

The airport is 14 kilometers from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and 32 kilometers from Thane. Officials expect the facility to strengthen connectivity for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Western India.
