Airtel Uganda Pays UGX 50.31 Billion Dividend to NSSF

Airtel Uganda gave a huge dividend check to the National Social Security Fund worth 50.31 billion shillings. The money covers earnings from 2024 and shows great returns on NSSF's 199 billion shilling investment from December 2023. NSSF bought a 10.5 percent share of Airtel during the company's stock market launch. The dividend came just 18 months after the original investment.

NSSF manages money for many Ugandans and keeps growing bigger each year. The fund jumped from 22 trillion shillings to over 25 trillion shillings in just one year. Patrick Ayota runs NSSF and said they reached their 10-year goal 18 months early. The fund hit 20 trillion shillings in January 2024 when people thought it was impossible. They had planned to reach that amount much later.

Airtel Uganda keeps adding new services for customers and businesses across the country. The company just started a spam alert system to protect phone users from unwanted messages. They also launched Network as a Service to help businesses of all sizes. This new service gives companies secure internet connections and network support they can rely on every day.
