Allegri admits star Leao's season a non-starter for Milan

AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri addressed reporters ahead of the match against Juventus in Turin, emphasizing the significance of the fixture against his former club. Allegri stated the game remains important for Milan's progression against an unbeaten side competing for top-four placement. The coach noted his eight-year tenure with Juventus created lasting emotions, but he dismissed any notion of seeking revenge.

Allegri highlighted the need for tactical discipline after Milan's defensive performance against Napoli showed room for improvement. He confirmed Fikayo Tomori's availability for selection and stated that Rafael Leao is continuing to regain fitness after completing his first full training week since August 17. The manager praised Matteo Gabbia's development following his national team call-up and expressed satisfaction with Samuele Ricci's versatility in midfield positions.

Allegri revealed injured player Gashari should return within approximately one month after beginning light rehabilitation work. The coach must decide between Bartisaghi and Ethikami for the left-back position against Juventus on Sunday. Milan faces a challenging test against a Juventus team known for high-intensity pressing and strong attacking capabilities in such matches.
