Amnesty International Kenya Calls to Free Missing Blogger Ndiangui Kinyagia

Rights groups demand authorities release blogger Ndiangui Kinyagia after his disappearance from his Kinoo home on June 21. Amnesty International Kenya says suspected detectives took the 31-year-old activist during a raid. The organization wants officials to bring him before a court or free him immediately. Activist Boniface Mwangi fears Kinyagia faces torture during his detention. The missing man works as an IT expert and runs popular social media accounts.

Witnesses saw several unmarked vehicles surround Kinyagia's apartment building for nine hours before men forced entry. Family members reported the incident to local police who deny knowledge of any operation. The Law Society of Kenya has joined efforts to locate the blogger. President Faith Odhiambo says the case violates constitutional protections. Lawyers plan to file court papers forcing police to explain his whereabouts.

Kinyagia created protest schedules directing demonstrators toward State House before his disappearance. His family cannot reach him because his mobile phones remain switched off. The blogger used his online platform Daguin Dd to organize support for anniversary protests. His case adds to growing concerns about forced disappearances across Kenya. Legal experts warn that civic freedoms continue shrinking under current conditions.
