Amorim survives Old Trafford as United beat Chelsea

Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford despite both teams receiving red cards during the match. Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez earned dismissal after five minutes for a reckless challenge outside his penalty area. Bruno Fernandes capitalized on the numerical advantage by scoring his 100th goal for the club. Casemiro extended the lead before halftime but received his second yellow card moments later. The victory provided manager Ruben Amorim with temporary relief from mounting pressure.

Chelsea struggled with their early disadvantage as manager Enzo Maresca made three substitutions within 21 minutes. Filip Jorgensen replaced the dismissed goalkeeper while Cole Palmer departed with injury concerns. Trevoh Chalobah responded for the visitors with a late header that created tension during the final minutes. United withstood the late pressure to secure their second victory in six recent matches. The result lifted the team from near the relegation zone to ninth position in the league standings.
