Anwar heads to South Africa G20

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, following the conclusion of his official visit to Ethiopia. His attendance at the Group of 20 Leaders' Summit comes by invitation from the forum's current chair, South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by several ministers and a delegation of senior government officials and business leaders. Malaysia maintains significant economic ties with South Africa, which was its largest trading partner on the African continent the previous year. Bilateral trade between the two nations was valued at over seven billion ringgit.

This visit to South Africa represents the second segment of a three-nation tour, which will subsequently proceed to Kenya.
