Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will present ASEAN's perspectives on global economic and environmental challenges at the G20 Summit in South Africa. He is scheduled to speak during sessions on sustainable economic growth and climate change, reflecting Malaysia's role as the 2025 ASEAN Chair.
His itinerary includes a courtesy call with South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa to explore new bilateral cooperation. Potential areas for collaboration include the halal industry, food security, and high technology. The Prime Minister will also meet with Botswana's Vice President and engage with the Malaysian diaspora and local business leaders.
Following the summit, Anwar will proceed to Nairobi, Kenya, for an official visit. He is accompanied by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz and the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
