Apple says just deal with iPhone 17 Pro scratches

Apple addressed scratching complaints regarding darker iPhone 17 Pro models after durability tests revealed vulnerabilities. The company confirmed that marks appearing on devices displayed with MagSafe stands result from material transfer and can be removed through cleaning. Store employees will replace worn MagSafe demonstration units to prevent further customer concerns.

The tech giant acknowledged that camera plateau scratches will develop during regular use. Apple switched from titanium to aluminum construction for the iPhone 17 Pro series, citing improved heat transfer benefits. However, this material change makes the devices more susceptible to visible abrasions similar to MacBook computers.

Company representatives stated that gradual scratch development represents normal wear patterns for anodized aluminum products. Apple emphasized its commitment to product quality while defending the durability characteristics of the new material choice. The iPhone 17 series launched in multiple markets last week, prompting immediate user feedback about cosmetic damage.
