Atalanta close to signing Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton

Atalanta BC wants to buy Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton. The Italian team will pay around 18 million euros for the Ghana winger. Sulemana is 24 years old and plays for his country's national team. Reports say he will sign a four-year contract with Atalanta. The deal also gives the club a chance to keep him for one more year.

Ivan Juric recently became Atalanta's new head coach after Gianpiero Gasperini left the job. Sulemana knows Juric well because they worked together at Southampton last season. The player had his best games under Juric's guidance at Southampton. His strongest performance came during Southampton's 3-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Juric helped Sulemana play more regularly during the recent campaign.

Southampton got relegated to the Championship after a poor season. Juric decided to leave the club once their demotion became official. Sulemana managed to score two goals and create three assists across 30 matches for Southampton. The winger showed flashes of his talent despite the team's struggles. Atalanta believes he can perform better with regular playing time and proper coaching.
