A Harare woman faced court on Tuesday after allegedly spreading rumors about her niece's health status. Sekai Tekeno from Dzivarasekwa claims her aunt Jane Tekeno told neighbors about her medical condition. Sekai expressed embarrassment walking through her neighborhood because people laughed at her. She stated that after asking her aunt to stop discussing her health, Jane threatened to petrol bomb her house.
The dispute includes property, as Sekai says she bought the house from her aunt, who now wants it back. Sekai fears becoming homeless if evicted since her reputation has suffered from the health status disclosure.
