Bangladesh in Washington as Sk Bashir Uddin blasts unfair US tariffs

Bangladesh trade chiefs wrapped up their second round of heated negotiations with American officials on Thursday. The two nations hammered out deals on several key points during intense discussions about future business relationships. Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin sat across from US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer at his Washington office. Greer holds massive influence as a top minister in the Trump administration. Both sides engaged in friendly talks about tariffs and shared economic interests.

Uddin painted a complete picture of Bangladesh's current situation during the high-stakes meeting. The South Asian country wants to pump up its exports to America while boosting imports from US companies. Bangladesh demands fair treatment on tariffs and seeks equal competition opportunities in global markets. Greer promised full support and cooperation to help achieve these goals. Several thorny issues still need resolution before any final agreement gets signed.

The Bangladesh delegation flew to the American capital under Uddin's leadership for these crucial talks. National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman joined the discussions through video calls from Dhaka headquarters. Special Assistant Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb also participated remotely from the Bangladesh capital. Senior trade ministry officials attended the Washington meetings alongside the main negotiating team. The third day of negotiations kicks off at 9am Eastern time with both countries pushing for breakthrough deals.
