Bangladesh will maintain limited customs operations during the upcoming Durga Puja holidays on Oct. 1-2, the National Board of Revenue announced Tuesday. The decision aims to prevent trade disruptions while most government offices close for the religious festival. Customs authorities received orders to keep cross-border activities running with reduced staff during the two-day period.
Priority will go to urgent and perishable shipments at land ports and customs stations nationwide. A similar arrangement worked during this year's Eid holidays when partial operations continued.
