Bangladesh rivers are on the rise but still safe

River watchers checked 119 stations across Bangladesh today. They found water rising at 73 spots and dropping at 43 others. Three stations stayed the same. All rivers remain below danger marks right away. The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre shared this news.

Several rivers keep climbing higher in Sylhet and Mymensingh areas. The Kangsha, Sarigowain, Jinjiram, and Someshwari all show more water coming through. Other rivers like Bhugai, Manu, Jadukata, and Khowai stay calm and safe. Heavy rains should hit these areas over two days ahead. Three rivers might reach close to danger marks within one day.

The Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers hold steady right away. These waterways could rise over three days ahead as more rain falls. The Teesta might climb near danger levels within three days. Weather experts expect heavy downpours across this region.

The big Brahmaputra-Jamuna system keeps rising but stays safe. Water levels should climb for five more days ahead. The Surma-Kushiyara rivers head different ways with Surma dropping and Kushiyara falling further. Both should stay below danger marks.

The major Ganges-Padma rivers also climb higher each day. These waterways will likely keep rising for five days ahead. They should remain below danger levels throughout this period.
