Big agri meet in Harare to boost Zimbabwe growth

A big meeting is going to happen next month in Harare. It's being put together by the Entrepreneurs Network Association of Zimbabwe (ENAZ). They want to bring together important people from agriculture, finance, and policy to help Zimbabwe's economy bounce back.

This big event is gonna focus on how crucial agriculture is for helping Zimbabwe reach its Vision 2030 goals. They're gonna talk about food security, chances to invest, and adding value to products in a way that lasts.

The head of ENAZ, Tsitsi Mutemaringa, said the meeting will make Zimbabwe look like a great place to invest in agriculture. It will also show that the government is serious about helping private companies enter agribusiness.

Around 300 people are expected to attend. We're talking investors, agribusiness bosses, policymakers, and people who represent international trade. The meeting will take place in Harare on April 11. It'll be a lively place to swap knowledge and make strategic connections.

The goal is to show that agriculture is a solid investment opportunity with high yields. They also want to encourage discussions about modern farming trends, ways to pay for stuff, and high-tech farming innovations.

Zimbabwe has a lot of potential in agriculture. Plus, there's a growing global demand for top-notch produce. Mutemaringa said agriculture is still one of the most important things for keeping the economy stable, creating jobs, and growing industries.

Farming accounts for over 17 percent of Zimbabwe's GDP and employs almost 70 percent of people, especially in rural areas. But farming is not just about growing stuff. Agriculture feeds into other industries like processing, exporting, and financial services, which means it's a big part of making the economy more diverse.

At the meeting, they'll discuss some key topics, such as treating agriculture as a business, using tech and innovation in farming, using AI solutions to boost productivity, dealing with climate change, and promoting eco-friendly farming methods.
