BJP leaders bloodied in mob attack en route to Bengal relief

BJP leader Rahul Sinha accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of orchestrating an attack on BJP Maldaha Uttar MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh in Jalpaiguri district on Monday. The incident occurred as the leaders traveled to assist landslide victims in North Bengal and distribute relief supplies. Murmu sustained severe facial and head injuries, while Ghosh received minor bruises after a mob pelted stones and bricks at their convoy in Nagrakata.

Sinha criticized Banerjee for attending a Kolkata carnival while casualties mounted in North Bengal and demanded a CBI investigation into the assault. Security personnel evacuated the BJP leaders as attackers damaged their vehicles. The violence unfolded amid rescue operations following heavy rainfall and landslides that killed at least 23 people by Monday morning.
