Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Victor Mpandasekwa died on Tuesday at a hospital in Harare at age 75, according to the Zimbabwe National Army. The army's commander, Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Matatu, confirmed his death in a statement.
Mpandasekwa, known in the liberation war as Cde Khetani Khanye, served during and after the conflict. He was recognized for his dedication and long-standing service to the country.
He is survived by four children: Anesu, Ropafadzai, Tinashe, and Khanye. Mourners have gathered at 189 Helensvale, Borrowdale, Harare, and burial details will be shared later.
