Capcom warns of Leon rumors for Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom producer Masato Kumazawa cautioned fans against believing unverified rumors about Leon S. Kennedy appearing in Resident Evil Requiem, stating that artificial intelligence tools make it difficult to distinguish authentic leaks from fabricated content. The producer emphasized that only official company announcements should be trusted, dismissing circulating images showing the character wearing an eyepatch and alleged downloadable costume information as fake. Kumazawa declined to definitively rule out the protagonist's inclusion, leaving speculation alive.

The developer explained that player feedback following Resident Evil Village's third-person mode implementation influenced the decision to offer both camera perspectives in the upcoming title. The dual-view option helps moderate the intensity for players who found Resident Evil VII Biohazard excessively frightening with its first-person-only approach.

Kumazawa confirmed that no playable demonstration is planned before the scheduled launch, with the team concentrating entirely on completing development. The survival horror title releases sometime around spring.
