Caps United Falters, Fans Demand Coach Change

Caps United keeps losing games. After just five matches, they sit near the bottom of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. Fans want coach Lloyd Chitembwe fired immediately. The team has let in almost more goals than any other club. They lag behind even struggling teams like ZPC Kariba and Kwekwe United.

League leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars are already nine points ahead of Caps United, and this gap might grow bigger with each new game. Yesterday, the Caps lost 2-1 to Ngezi, marking their third straight defeat. Obriel Chirinda and Ashwin Karengesha scored for Ngezi. Caps only managed an accidental goal when Gomezgani Chirwa put the ball into his team's net.

Angry supporters talk about Takesure Chiragwi possibly replacing Chitembwe as head coach. Club owner Farai Jere once promised Chitembwe would stay, but recent reports suggest he might become just a technical advisor instead. Fans lost patience completely after watching bad performances against Scotland and TelOne, followed by yesterday's failure.

Chitembwe claimed that fans saw an exciting match with committed players despite the loss. He said defensive problems caused recent failures as the team tries to play attractive football. He admitted Caps supporters expect better results than what his team delivers. Players feel disappointed about these losses just as much as their coach does.

Next week, the Caps face the Highlanders at their home stadium, an even tougher challenge. Chitembwe talked about planning for this match, but his words lacked any real confidence. The situation looks dark for the once-great Green Machine as pressure mounts on everyone involved with the club. Most fans believe things must change fast, or their beloved team might face relegation this season.
