Police arrested a suspect on Wednesday after a security guard was beheaded at a Kansanga church the previous night. Officers detained Alimu Caleb at Ggaba Landing Site following intelligence work that identified him as the primary person of interest in the attack on Epodoi Moses, age 32.
The victim worked for Corporate Security Limited and was on duty at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when the assault occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2025. Detectives collected evidence from the scene and transported the body to Mulago City Mortuary for examination.
Caleb admitted to the crime and is helping authorities locate the head and weapon used in the killing. Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire stated that the suspect was familiar with some congregation members.
Investigators are continuing to examine the motive behind the attack. Officers praised the residents for their assistance and requested that they continue to report any suspicious behavior.
