CIO Eyes War Vet Leader as Drama Heats Up in Zim

Zimbabwe intelligence agents have reportedly flagged Andreas Ethan Mathibela as someone they want to watch closely. Reports say border guards at Maitengwe, Mphoengs, and Plumtree received alerts about his movements. Nobody can confirm if these reports are true yet. Mathibela leads an outspoken group of war veterans.

Unknown attackers disrupted Mathibela's press event on Monday. He works closely with fiery war veteran Blessed Geza, and their partnership puts Mathibela at the heart of growing political fights. Geza recently asked people across Zimbabwe to protest on March 31, and demand President Emmerson Mnangagwa step down immediately.

Geza appeared on YouTube and X Tuesday night wearing military clothes. He spoke for thirty minutes, calling his planned event an uprising instead of just a protest. He labeled Mnangagwa a spy and blamed him for ruining the economy. He wants all Zimbabweans to fill the streets.

Geza backs Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, who many think wants to become president. He warned Police Commissioner Stephen Mutamba not to stop the protests. He claimed police officers suffer from the bad economy just like regular citizens. Everyone struggles because of how Mnangagwa runs things.

Police want to arrest Geza. He disappeared over a month ago after he attacked Mnangagwa's plan to stay president past 2028. They plan to charge him with disrespecting the president and pushing people toward violence. His return wearing army gear makes people nervous about what might happen next.

Many fear these events point toward a military takeover similar to what happened when Robert Mugabe lost power in November 2017. Chiwenga has stayed quiet about whether he wants to become president, making everything more uncertain. With Mathibela under surveillance and Geza openly fighting against Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe heads toward a shaky future.
